Start doing exercise

When you start to practice, you start to do a lot of exercise that is good for your body and is good for your health. Here are some things that you start to develop thanks to martial arts:

Endurance: In every class you have to do heating in order to avoid the risk of an injury, so after a few months you start to realize that you are not feeling tired quickly, now you can go up stairs easily, or you can walk for a long time with no problem.

Balance: Your body balance it increase, it really does. In classes you will learn to have a good balance to do some kicks or some positions, and then you start to notice that you can do activities in your daily life without lose the balance of your body

Strenght: You become stronger because of the physical work that you do. At the beginning you will feel that you are terrible in those things, but is okay, because is not usual to do the exercises that we do in karate. After to practice for a while you realize that you can do heavy lifting easily, and is really useful in daily life.

Elongation: You must to do a lot of elongation, in that way you can do better kicks. This is one of the most signitficative changes, because you compare how was your elongation when you start to practice and how is after. Is really satisfactory to see it.

Of course that to do all this changes in your body, you have to be constant and put all your effort in it!!!

Changes in your attitude

Good changes of course. When you start to practice you learn some codes of attitude, like for example respect, honor, perseverance, and some others that at the beginning will not be important, but that after to practice for a while, you realize that are really important.

Perseverance:

When you start to practice you will  not do all the excercises in an excellente way, and it´s okay, but what you  have to do in order to be better is persist, you  have to pursue your goal until to be successful.
Don´t feel bad if is hard! make that the reason of why you want to do it, challenge yourself and go beyond your limits.
Encourage yourself and think that nothing is imposible to do, you are capable of anything , here the phrase "I can´t" doesn´t exist.

Determination:

This go hand to hand with perseverance, because you become into a determinate person, when you focus in a goal nobody can stop you, and this is really helpful in many aspects of life. For example if you want to apply for a job this is a really good strenght, or if you want to succeed in an exam at highschool or the university, you will not stop until you be the best.

Cooperation:

You learn to work in team and to help to the new ones, here are all equals and deserve the same
respect. In every class you must work with your partner in a responsable way, I mean, if you are practicing a kick you will do it in a way that don´t damage badly to your partner, we are practicing, and we  have to care among us.
Is important to be conscious about the other, and in martial arts you learn that.

Trash your fears about martial arts!

Maybe if you hear the word “karate” you would think: kicks , punches, combat, attacks!! But, sorry, is not just that. Of course that the martial arts have combats, because is a sport in wich you have to figth with your partners sometimes (in a good way obviously), but is much more than that. You can find a lot of values and benefits for your health when you start to practice , so if you have the idea that if you practice this you will turn into a more violent person, let me tell you something : You are wrong.
The most common fears are to be punched or not to be able to do some excercise, but hey! we are all learning, so don´t worry if in your first class you cannot do some punch or kick in the right way, because you are starting, and we all make mistakes at the beginning . And if you don´t understand something, just ask to your sensei, because he will always want that you learn.
Encourage yourself and start to practice! You will have no regrets.
